Thanks to one of our demo product users we
have rushed to get this FAQ to you as quickly as possible. First, we insist that users of
our demo products not hesitate to request support when needed. We support all of our
products, registered or demo, equally. Our logs indicate an average of 32 downloads per
week of DbLink Inspection. Only one user has requested support. We thank that user
tremendously as we can safely say that 40 of the 43 average downloads have had the same
problem. Installation woes.
Problem 1: DbLink inspection software will not install from a sub directory. After
downloading place the executable file in a temp directory. When you execute the file
it will expand into an installable program. Delete the downloaded exe file (or
move it to archive for later use). The files that are left will fit on a single 1.44
floppy. Copy all the files to a floppy and install from there.
Problem 2: Duplicate entries when printing reports. REINDEX
BEFORE PRINTING REPORTS. DbLink Inspection was written to run of the
network. Yes it is network ready. We therefore chose not to have frequent
file locks. The 98 version will also be network ready however we have chose to
optimize that version for stand-alone.
Problem 3: No real help screens. Please read the text files that are on disk. This is a
must. Everything is on disk. Start with the readme files. They make recommendations in
order. You will be up and running in one afternoon. You will also note that the entire
specifications are in text form as well as in the dbf format.
Problem 4: I've use up my 15 startups but want to try the product more. Use your
installation disk to un-install DbLink inspection then REINSTALL it. This will not remove
the projects you have worked on. You simply will not be able to access them again until
you finally register your software. This means you can literally use the product forever,
assuming you don't need to reuse the projects you have already done.
To enhance the support for our demo products we have temporarily opened up the BBS
section of our Members Section for your use. (a section for registered users of our
products.) You can post your support questions and will have answers within 24 hrs. When
the members section opens we will either provide continued demo user support to that
section or open a separate BBS for demo support. Thanks and happy computing.
